Birmingham Internal Medicine Associates (BIMA) has joined Florida-based Complete Health and its growing group of primary care practices.

BIMA has received a Most Innovative Practice Award from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Alabama and has been named a Best of Shelby County practice every year since 2016.

Founder John Farley, MD and his partners, Drs. Tammy Leong, Neil Meadows, and Jason Smith will continue leading the practice with the existing team and staff. Farley has been named President of the Alabama Markets for Complete Health.

BIMA provides specialized and expanded primary care services including diagnostic imaging, chronic-care management and BIMAfit - the practice's proprietary and patient-customized weight loss and wellness program. BIMA plans to expand services to include a dedicated pharmaceutical research program and on-site lab.

BIMA provides walk-in services, convenient weekly and Saturday hours and special programs for seniors. As a Complete Health provider, BIMA continues to expand its services, team, and physician base to meet the growing needs of the community. Complete Health offers an industry-leading concept in patient care - dedicated Member Support Representatives who educate and address concerns of patients and help them access benefits and health services. Cari Heiberger and Clay Barnett, part of the existing BIMA staff, have been appointed to this position.
