Scott joins Alabama Allergy & Asthma Center

Thomas Scott, MD

Board-certified allergist Thomas Scott, MD has joined Alabama Allergy & Asthma Center starting in August.

Scott received his undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, Ohio, and then proceeded to finish his Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

During his training, Scott was named Internal Medicine Resident of the Year and received the National Medical Fellowship Award. He recently completed his Master of Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Before joining Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center, Scott served as the medical director at Ascension Medical Group in Wichita, Kansas. He was affiliated with the University of Kansas School of Medicine where he was a volunteer faculty member, clinical preceptor, and student mentor. He has also taught at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

Scott is a fellow with the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology and a representative of the National Medical Association. He has been published multiple times and has provided numerous presentations on allergy, asthma and immunology. He has a special interest in allergy, asthma, rhinitis, sinusitis, and aspirin allergy.

In August, Scott will be accepting appointments at the new Alabama Allergy & Asthma Center Bessemer office, located in UAB Medical West.
