East Alabama Health celebrated the grand opening of its new mental health facility, East Alabama Medical Center North (EAMC), in December. Located in East Alabama Health’s North Campus, the new facility will expand access to inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, increasing its inpatient psychiatry bed count from 28 to 40.

The 54,000-square-foot facility includes specialized units for adults, adolescents and children seeking inpatient care, as well as increased space for East Alabama Psychiatric Services (EAPS), which provides outpatient mental health care.
