Brookwood Baptist Medical Center received a three-year accreditation from CARF International for its adult Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality and optimal outcomes through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services.

To achieve three-year accreditation, the highest level available, Brookwood Baptist Medical Center's Rehabilitation Unit went through a rigorous peer review process.

"We are pleased to be recognized as only the second hospital state-wide to achieve this prestigious distinction," said Mark Adams, MD, medical director, rehabilitation services, Brookwood Baptist Health.

The hospital's Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit offers specialized, interdisciplinary adult rehabilitation programs that utilize a team approach to care. The hospital's team of licensed professionals includes: rehabilitation physicians/extenders, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, rehabilitation nurses, licensed counselors, nutritionists and case managers.
