FMC achieved a five-star rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. FMC is one of only of five hospitals in Alabama and one of 293 nationwide to receive this rating, placing FMC in the top 6.5 percent of the nation's hospitals.

The rating is based on mortality, readmissions, patient experience, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care, and efficient use of medical imaging.

In addition, FMC Long Term Care ranked in the top six percent of similar facilities in the US for resident satisfaction based on a survey of residents.
