Cassandra Warner Frieson, DNP is the recipient of the 2018 University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH) Alumni of Achievement Award.

Frieson has established an innovative nursing practice in Birmingham that is focused on fall prevention for geriatrics. Before opening Fall Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation Services in 2014, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Cullman. She was also employed as an adjunct faculty member in the UAH Graduate Nursing Program.

A professional speaker, Frieson has addressed local and international meetings concerning the care of older adults. In addition, Frieson is a member of the UAH College of Nursing Advisory Board.

A prolific writer and editor, she also serves as editor-in-chief and editor for The Journal of Perioperative & Critical Intensive Care Nursing, Gerontology & Geriatrics: Research, and is a guest associate editor for Frontiers in Public Health.
