Community Health Systems has promoted Grandview Medical Center CEO Keith Granger to the position of CHSPSC Regional President and Market CEO for Alabama. Granger will provide management guidance to CHS's six affiliated client hospitals in Alabama while continuing to serve as CEO of Grandview until a successor is named.
Granger came to Birmingham and Trinity Medical Center in 2009 having served as CEO of Flowers Hospital in Dothan since 1992. In 2015, Trinity Medical Center was relocated to Highway 280 and renamed Grandview Medical Center.
During his tenure at Flowers Hospital, Granger led his team to becoming the number one ranked hospital in the nation in using evidence based quality practices as measured by CMS.
Granger also led Trinity to achieve top quality scores. In 2014, the Commonwealth Fund's website listed Trinity as the number one ranked hospital in the country for Overall Recommended Care becoming Granger's second hospital to achieve a number one ranking.
Granger has previously served as Chairman of the Alabama Hospital Association's Board of Trustees and received its highest honor for hospital leadership. He has chaired the Association's Quality Task force since its inception in 2004. He is a former member of the Board and Executive Committee of Alabama's Quality Improvement Organization. He also played a key role in the passage of Alabama's Infection Reporting Law.
Granger currently serves on the Board of Governor's for the Federation of American Hospitals and is Alabama's delegate for the American Hospital Association's Regional Policy Board. He also serves on the Board of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
