Citizens Baptist Medical Center has appointed Doug Brewer as the new chief executive officer (CEO).

With over 10 years of healthcare executive leadership experience, Brewer served as Chief Operating Officer of Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta before joining the Brookwood Baptist Health system in September 2015 where he has provided leadership to the cardiovascular service line. He has also held executive leadership positions for Select Medical Corporation and a multi-hospital system similar to Brookwood Baptist Health.

Brewer earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Central Oklahoma and a master's degree in business administration from Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. He is vice chair of the Brain Injury Association of America National Board of Directors and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
