Following an on-site evaluation by a physician surveyor, the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons has granted Three-Year Approval with Commendation to the cancer program at Brookwood Medical Center. The Approvals Program sets quality-of-care standards for cancer programs and reviews the programs to ensure that they conform to these standards. Approval is only given to those facilities that have committed to giving the highest quality of cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process, along with a review of their performance.
