Urgent Care for Children (UC4C), a physician-owned pediatric urgent care provider, has completed a multi-million dollar round of Series A financing from McKinney Capital and Timberline Holdings. The funding will support Urgent Care for Children's continued growth throughout the southern United States.

"We founded Urgent Care for Children to provide convenient, quality care to Birmingham's pediatric patients. Over the past two years, we have experienced tremendous growth and built a strong reputation, and this round of funding enables us to continue that momentum as we expand our footprint," said Allury Arora, MD, Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Urgent Care for Children.

Urgent Care for Children intends to utilize the funding to scale its operations by increasing clinic capacity and opening additional clinics, as well as investing in systems that will support the company's corporate structure. UC4C has appointed J. Bannon Thorpe as CEO. Thorpe previously served as a Vice President at Regions Financial. J.T. Price, CEO of McKinney Capital, will join Urgent Care for Children's Board of Directors and serve as an advisor to the clinic's physician-led ownership team.

Urgent Care for Children opened its first clinic, located on Highway 280, in 2017, and opened its Trussville location in 2018. Urgent Care for Children plans to open several additional clinic locations throughout the Birmingham metro and across the state of Alabama. The company runs Alabama's first physician-owned and operated, and one of the state's highest patient-rated, pediatric urgent care facilities. Urgent Care for Children's team of pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners offer acute diagnostic and treatment care for children with non-life-threatening medical needs after-hours and on weekends, 365 days a year.
