Russell Named CEO of HealthSouth Shelby County Rehab Hospital


 
Robert Russell

Robert Russell has been named chief executive officer of HealthSouth's future inpatient rehabilitation hospital located in Pelham.

Russell, with a background in respiratory therapy, brings over 20 years of operational leadership experience to his new role. He earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Georgia in addition to a bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy from Biosystems Institute.

The future 34-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital will provide rehabilitation services and medical management, including dialysis, for patients recovering from stroke and other neurological disorders, hip fractures, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, complex orthopedic conditions. The hospital, HealthSouth's seventh hospital location in Alabama, will open to patients in spring 2018.
