What’s In a Name?

When it comes to selecting a name for a medical practice, the final choice, or actual name is meaningful. In 2021 our group, formerly Shelby OB-GYN moved our Obstetric services to Grandview Medical Group.  We also opened a new office location at Grandview.

The challenge began to rebrand and select a new name for our group to reflect both locations, our original location in Alabaster, and now our additional location at Grandview as well as the mission and vision of the practice.  As a medical practice brand, you always want your brand name to be compelling and reflective of who you are as a practice.

We ultimately landed on Complete Woman’s Care of Alabama.  When we thought about the vast array of services we offer, including low and high-risk obstetric care, preventative services, family planning, bladder health, hormone replacement therapy, gynecology, adolescent gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, in-office mammograms, and lab services, we felt like we are a “complete” practice.  Along with the many health plans we participate in, we also accept Medicaid patients and offer same-day appointments.  With all these services on-hand, and now with two locations we felt feel the name “Complete” is fitting for our group. 

As we grow to fulfill the mission of our name, we have also begun offering adolescent classes teaching girls about their maturing bodies.  We have successfully completed many of these classes at Grandview and in the community with over 200 girls and their parents attending these informational sessions. We also offer patients who are mid-term pregnancy the opportunity to be our patient if they are moving into the area, or just seeking a new provider or practice.

Our mission is to be the answer for anyone requiring the services we provide. For a medical practice, the brand is something your patients feel, hear, or see when they visit your office, interact with you or deal with your staff. It includes everything from your office décor to the usability of your website. It also includes the promotional material you provide to patients, such as brochures, leaflets, etc.
